You'll have to manually configure the proxy on your browser, as transparent proxy can only work in server&gateway (unless you configure the interception of port 80 on your gateway device and send it to your SME Server on port 3128). I do not see a a statement about the number of NIC must have the sme. I think it needs two, but it is not marked. however i do not know how it could operate ? sorry for my 2c Stephdl (talk)
I never tried in server only mode, but it should just work.
