This looks reasonable. Perhaps it should be a section called "User Experience". You could then identify the UPS model as you have done and then identify any special instructions to make it work in addition to the SME release level it was tested with. At the beginning of the section you should identify the master reference link.

mkdir /etc/e-smith/templates-custom//etc/ups/ups.conf/ -p
vim /etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/ups/ups.conf/UUPS
then add
override.battery.date = 2020/08/31
override.battery.mfr.date = 2020/01/01
then do
expand-template /etc/ups/ups.conf
service nut restart
