Just because it is updated doesn't mean it is better. Well written packages won't need to be updated. This is especially true of integration packages. phpmyadmin package can be pulled from rpmforge and the sme part shouldn't have to change at all.
It would be nice to combine the best of both packages into one so we only have to maintain one and keep the confusion to a minimum. Does anyone want to look at what is different and see what it would take to combine these?
