What is amazing with the same setting between sme7 and sme8 it doesn't work to backup with the smb protocol

As it says in the article
"Please raise bugs under the SME-Contribs section in bugzilla and select the smeserver-BackupPC component or use this link"
That way the original author/maintainer will be notified, & it will start the process to have the package modified.
In some cases the original maintainers are no longer involved, so someone else may step in to update the package.
I think the original maintainer is still active.
