The yum remove command has caused grief for some users, when it removed many additional dependent packages. Developers have advised to use rpm -e packagename instead, and that does appear to be the general recommendation as read somewhere in the wiki recently. So shouldn't /usr/bin/yum remove smeserver-affa be rpm -e smeserver-affa

Regards Ray

At the moment a don't know any package that depends of Affa. And if this would be the case in the future, yum asked for conformation unless you run it with the -y option. Anyway, I have changed the uninstall instructions to rpm -e. It's as good as yum erase.

Hi Michael

just had trouble finding the details for the undo-rise command, had finally to talk the customer through piping the affa help into more and then him looking down the commands. There is no command spec in the wiki. We sucessfully ran the command, but it would be better if some one other than me (who knows more of the details) than me filled it in. Thanks for such a useful contrib.

Brian, thanks for the clue. I inadvertently deleted it. I have now re-added it. --Mweinber 16:33, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
