Dernières informations concernant le système de traduction Pootle

Suite à de nombreuses erreurs de traduction au seins des langages principaux, il a été décidé de restreindre l'accès à la traduction directe. Vous pouvez désormais seulement "suggerer" une traduction qui sera ensuite controlé par un responsable dans votre langue avant publication "envoie".

IMPORTANT

Avant que vous puissiez demander l'accès en tant que responsable , vous devez ajouter la langue et les projets dans votre compte Pootle. Pour ce faire allez dans "Mon Compte" --> "Changer les options" et selectionnez les 3 projets sous "Mes Projets" SME Server Console, SME Server Panels, et SME Contribs Panels (utilisez la touche ctrl pour la section multiple). Puis sélectionnez votre langue sous "Mes Langues".

Enfin vous pourrez traduire directement en cliquant sur le bouton "envoyer", et vérifier les suggestions faites par les autres traducteurs. Vous pouvez accepter ou rejeter les suggestions.

	Pour être responsable d'une langue vous devez ouvrir un bogue comme décrit au dessus. Puis nous vous donnerons l'accès "traducteur". Si vous êtes le premiers repsonsable d'une langue vous avez la responsabilité d'accepter d'autres responsables de traduction en vous basant sur la qualité de ses traductions.

Traduire avec Pootle

SME Server est traduit en Anglais, Français, Allemand, Espagnol, Italien et Suedois.

D'autres langues arrivent.

Pour ajouter une langue, ouvrez un bogue dans le bug tracker pour informer que vous voulez ouvrir cette langue.

Pootle pour les traducteurs

Enregistrez vous et connectez vous sur http://translate.contribs.org et vous pouvez commencer à traduire.

Merci de ne PAS utiliser de traducteurs automatiques. Ceux ci donnent de MAUVAISES traductions de piètre qualité. Laissez les autres traducteurs humains le faire si vous ne trouvez pas vous même!

Mots non traduits

Cliquer sur "Afficher les fonctions d'édition " et enfin sur "Traduction rapide" pour chacun des fichiers de toute la langue.

Vous pouvez aussi voir les suggestions en cliquant sur "Examiner les suggestions".

Mémoire de traduction

Vous pouvez utiliser des traductions assorties du côté droit de Pootle "related" pour accélérer la traduction. Faites les modifications nécessaires pour accorder.

Vérifications avant de finir votre travail

Pour la langue de votre choix à la racine du projet, cliquez sur "Afficher les fonctions d'édition" et sur "Afficher les contrôles" pour voir une liste des erreurs de syntaxe.

	Nous devons faire une traduction homogène. Le système détectent quelques erreurs de cohérence pour toutes les langues . Vous pouvez verifier sur http://translate.contribs.org/errors/ et voir les erreurs dans votre langue. Merci de corriger les incohérences et contradictions.

Vous devez corriger le fichier clamav.po ou emailsettings.po (PAS LES DEUX) pour utiliser uniquement une des deux traduction suivante:

Durante l'orario d'ufficio (dalle 8:00 alle 18:00) giorni lavorativi 

ou

Orario ufficio (8:00-18:00 Lun-Ven)

Merci de supprimer tous les \n caractères à la fin des traductions, et caractères d'échappement \ avant chaque " qui ne sont pas présent dans la version source Anglaise. ex. \"{$acct}\" devrait être "{$acct}". Ceci arrive seulement dans la vérification des incohérences.

Ainsi, à valeurs egales en Angalis => valeurs égales dans la traduction.

Dans cet exemple (italien) les fichiers clamav.po et emailsettings.po doivent avoir la même traduction:

Durante l'orario d'ufficio (dalle 8:00 alle 18:00) giorni lavorativi ou Orario ufficio (8:00-18:00 Lun-Ven).

Pootle tips

To speed up your translation process follow these tips:

Enter at "My account" and then at "Change options".

Set these values:

• Number of rows in translate mode = 1
• Number of rows in view mode = 5
• Input Height (in lines) = 10

You can select your language and projects to see shortcuts at your home page.

Pootle for developers

Lexicons for rpms in smecontribs and smeserver are automatically added to Pootle.

A patch is automatically created at http://translate.contribs.org/patches/ You then apply this to the rpm to add the new translations or update the existing ones.

We need a few volunteers to apply these patches, say weekly, or more or less as the need arises, it isn't difficult and we will guide you.

• The English locale file is used as the Pootle template. Other languages are edited/translated at Pootle.

• Every time you modify, add to or remove strings from the English locale file, just re-commit to cvs. There is a daily update to apply cvs changes to Pootle

• Make your original FM file XML strict. Always close the opened tags (<i>...</i>). Use the same caps for tags (<b> is not equal to <B>).

Considerations for XXX-LANGUAGE translators

• Not use colloquial terms. Only formal XXX-LANG.
• Review the orthographic errors. A very simple way is to use Firefox with the installed XXX-LANG dictionary.
• Verify the translation in the context.
• Not to be brief words. Ej. "Ud." instead of "Usted" (Spanish example)
• The subscripts "_" in Pootle indicate a space in target.
• Not to add capital letters in where in English they are not it. Ej. "Web page" must be translated like "Página web" and not like "Página Web" (Spanish example). The intention is to translate and not to invent. For it we must be exact although it demands much greater time the translation.
• Any discussion or doubts or interchange of ideas can be made at the tab "discussion" in the top part of this page. Indent the answers adding two points at the beginning of each new line.
• IMPORTANT. If at the moment of an installation or modification of the adjustments of SME Server it detects an inexact translation or that one does not adjust to the context, please, takes note precise from the same one and in where it found it, soon to correct it. If you want you can fix at http://translate.contribs.org. Does not let save the opportunity to correct.

Outdated contribs

If contribs are not updated after the April 2008 updates the server-manager panels appear unsorted

The easiest way to update lexicons is for the Author to import their contrib into the SME Contribs repository. Contrib authors please have a look at Package_Modification for that.

Contribs known to not have translations in UTF8 format:

• smeserver-sme7admin
• smeserver-usbdisksmanager (update in smecontribs NEEDS TESTING!)
• smeserver-dar2 (update in smecontribs)
• smeserver-ejabberd
• smeserver-saco-qmHandle
• smeserver-squid_cache_mgt
• smeserver-subversion (update in smecontribs)
• smeserver-fetchmail (update in smecontribs, another utf-8 version maintained by the original author is also on his website)
• e-smith-ezmlm-web (replace with smeserver-ezmlm in smecontribs NEEDS TESTING!)
• sme-crontab_manager

Simple (and dirty) way to discover the incompatible contrib panel

The following command will list all incompatible translation files.

find /etc/e-smith/locale/ -type f | xargs -n1 iconv -f UTF-8 -t UTF-8 > /dev/null

After finding the above files you can determine which package they belong to (if it isn't obvious) by running the following command:

rpm -qf /etc/e-smith/locale/lang/etc/e-smith/web/functions/panelname

And replace the "lang" and "panelname" with what the first command spits out.

To fix temporally this issue, create a temporary folder in your SME, like /root/paneltemp

MOVE those problematic lexicon files to your temp folder.

Then run the command:

/etc/e-smith/events/actions/navigation-conf
