I have already removed the illegal installation/removal instructions and unnecessary and dangerous modifying of yum.conf in the english version. If the system was correctly configured it should install using the --enablerepo= parameters, if they are necesarry at all as the application seems to come from default configured repositories.

Please fix this page (and it's french translation) quickly as it contains a lot of non-standard and badly documented installtion commands and instructions. It does not adhere to the standard formatting used in this wiki:

  • capitalization (of words and starting of sentences)
  • incomplete sentences
  • rework the sectioning as it is total chaos

I did a major overhaul changing some configuration templates to be more general SME Server like.
There are a number of things to check, preferably by the original author:
  • Try and tie in the service like described in the SME Server Development Guide.
  • Update and reorganize the other language (French) as well
  • Rewrite the Windows section as this is unreadable, please format it like other sections in this wiki

I am not wholly in agreement with your howto in English.

Why to configure service, xinetd and hosts.allow if the scanner is not acknowledged.

I don't understand.

To write with wiki, it reminds me of my beginning in computer science in 1980. ;)

I learnt a lot with Cactus

If your not in agreement feel free to make changes.
On your second point in configuring everything if the scanner is not acknowledged I have to disagree with you, the first line of the SANE#Configuring_xinetd_to_run_SANE_unattended section clearly states:
"After succesfull installation and testing it is time to configure xinetd so SANE will run as a service on your server."

Both sections (installing and testing) are before the section configuring the daemon so I think the order and instructions are correct. - Cactus 01:16, 1 April 2008 (MDT)
I found several errors in the English party of the howto. (2.1.3)
Sane will not be able to work.
I correct tomorrow
I am also going to add in the party ' Uninstall ' what there is in the French party

Hi Cactus,

I don't understand:

After succesfull of the required packages issue the following commands:

 signal-event post-upgrade
 signal-event reboot

It isn't very good, it takes of 'CPU time '
