I suggest to put success configuration for specific ups brand and type not listed in http://www.networkupstools.org/compat/

like this :

Configuration for specific Brand/Type UPS

  • Brand :ICA
  • Model/Type : UPS 681-B
    • Connection : Serial
    • Configuration :
      • Model=genericups
      • Type=21

This looks reasonable. Perhaps it should be a section called "User Experience". You could then identify the UPS model as you have done and then identify any special instructions to make it work in addition to the SME release level it was tested with. At the beginning of the section you should identify the master reference link.

What do you think of:

User Experience

Users who have implemented a UPS not identified in the compatibility list at http://www.networkupstools.org/compat/ should identify the configuration here as a reference to others. Please sign your experience using four tildes (~).

change battery date

while it would be better to be able to change the value in the UPS directly here what you can do

 mkdir /etc/e-smith/templates-custom//etc/ups/ups.conf/ -p
 vim /etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/ups/ups.conf/UUPS

then add

        override.battery.date = 2020/08/31
        override.battery.mfr.date = 2020/01/01

then do

 expand-template /etc/ups/ups.conf
 service nut restart
