The yum remove command has caused grief for some users, when it removed many additional dependent packages. Developers have advised to use rpm -e packagename instead, and that does appear to be the general recommendation as read somewhere in the wiki recently.

At the moment a don't know any package that depends of Affa. And if this would be the case in the future, yum asked for conformation unless you run it with the -y option. Anyway, I have changed the uninstall instructions to rpm -e. It's as good as yum erase.

What happened to the historical information for v2 ?

The menus no longer work correctly.

The old stuff should be retained for historical reasons & for users still using the old version etc.

As it says v3 is still under testing, so too early to erase v2 links etc.

OK I see that now, thanks. The problems is that if that v2 section is not expanded ie in Less mode, then the menus for Affa 2 stuff do not work. Maybe that is a bug in wiki ie if you click on a v2 menu item when in Less mode, then nothing happens, whereas if you expand the v2 section first & then click on the Affa 2 menu items then you are taken to the text section. That does not seem the appropriate or right way to have to use menus.

just had trouble finding the details for the undo-rise command, had finally to talk the customer through piping the affa help into more and then him looking down the commands.  There is no command spec in the wiki.  We sucessfully ran the command, but it would be better if some one other than me (who knows more of the details) than me filled it in. Thanks for such a useful contrib.

perl-Compress-Bzip2-2.09-1.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm is no longer at the URL listed in the documentation. It is easy enough to Google (e.g. many copies here http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/9510304/dir/redhat_el_4/com/perl-Compress-Bzip2-2.09-1.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm.html), but it should be noted. --[[User:Judgej|Judgej]] 11:06, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
