Charlie just gave the guidance and I created the bug to see if anyone else agreed
The contribs followed the first one that put data under /opt, they are all wrong.
Fixing existing contribs may be hard, but we should make new ones follow the new guidelines

ok. Can you point me to the correct references you mention? I want to give this some thought. It's been bugging me especially as I go through server upgrades or restores.

Tested on SME8b4 and the yum install of squeezecenter now pulls in squeezeboxserver rather than squeezecenter which breaks some of the instructions that follow.
